It is vitally important that children arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their lesson time ensuring them enough time to prepare and to be ready waiting for the commencement of their lesson. Making full use of their lesson time is crucial as the duration of the lesson is only 30 minutes. If your child is late they may miss out on important skills taught during the lesson and may be disruptive for the others in the lesson.
The most imortant piece of clothing required for any swim lesson. For boys we do not recommend long baggy shorts and for girls we recommend that they wear a one-piece bathing suit.
Rash vest and wetsuits are not recommended as with our pool being heated to 31 degrees there is no need for children to wear rash or wetsuit as these items of clothing can make the children colder and also ccan limit their movement.
Whilst it is not compulsory we strongly encourage all children with hair shoulder length or longer to wear a swim cap.
The benefits of wearing a swimming cap is that it will:
We have a range of swimming caps of all sizes available at our reception.
Children are free to wear googles although on occasions during their lesson we will perform drills with the children not wearing their googles. Googles are an important part of enouraging children to take the step and put their face under water. We have a huge range of googles of all sizes acailable at our reception.
We strongly advise that all parents with children enrolled in our Babies and Toddlers lessons are required to wear a swim nappy if they are not yet toilet trained.
All fees apply across all our swimming levels
* Junior squad consists of children taking part in regular lessons as well as squad training
** Private lessons are reserved for children with special needs and are dependent on availability
Please ensure that your child’s lesson is paid for prior to the commencement of that lesson.
Term payments are available upon request, please see our staff at our front desk for further information. Discounts apply for term payment when paid in full within the first two weeks of each school term. Upon joining Sweeney's Swim School at your first lesson we do require a double lesson fee payment, this payment will pay for your lesson on that day and also for your final lesson with us whenever that may be.
We are committed to the protection of your privacy and personal information and will not disclose your personal information to any third party.

Any unattended lessons are required to be paid.
Any remaining make-up lessons must be used before the last date of your enrolment or they will be forfeited. Make-up lessons will not be reinstated if you rejoin at a later date. Make-ups have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for credit or refund and cannot be transferred to another student.
Pausing/withdrawing from lessons due to medical reasons will be actioned as soon as written notice via email is received. In this instance, classes will be held in credit for your return if the place is paid.
You must notify the Centre of any absences through the SimplyPortal app (customer portal).
Extended Absences
If you are away for an extended period of time and wish to return to the Centre following your absence, you have the option to either:
- pay your invoice in full covering any absent dates in order to retain and return to your existing enrolment lesson day and time. Payment of missed lessons will hold your place.
or
- withdraw from lessons (i.e. end your enrolment without payment of absent dates) for any/an extended absence. Notice must be given to the centre at least 2 weeks' prior to ending the enrolment.
You understand withdrawal from lessons is at your own risk. The centre in no way guarantees the student(s) will be able to return to their previous lesson(s) day/time/teacher, nor does the Centre guarantee there will be any places available at the student's level on your return. You can be placed on our Waitlist for the required days and times. You understand and accept this risk should this option be chosen.
A minimum of 30 minutes' notice is required to notify an absence from your lesson(s) to receive a make-up for the absence. Where the notice period is not met for an absence, the lesson is forfeited and must be paid. Where a student is absent and does not notify the centre for 3 consecutive classes, their enrolment will be cancelled and fees will be due and payable.
Make-up lessons:
- are unlimited
- are subject to availability
- are only given if the required notice is given
- must be booked online and are your responsibility to check back regularly for vacancies
- will be forfeited upon cancellation of enrolment.
- valid for 90 days
Lesson continuity works best for scheduling and for the student's progression. If your lesson time no longer works for you, please speak to Reception staff to find a more suitable time.
The Centre will use EMAIL as the primary channel of communication.
We may from time to time also communicate via SMS and/or Push Notification (through the app).
PLEASE ENSURE that your contact details are always up to date so that you do not miss any important notifications or reminders. You can action any changes to your contact and/or direct debit details yourself through the SimplyPortal app at any time.
PLEASE ENSURE you save our email address to your saved contacts and mark it as safe so that our messages do not go to your junk/spam folder and so that you are kept up-to-date with all notifications. Emails will be kept to a minimum.
Enrolment bookings will be considered to be ongoing until a student changes Level requiring a class change, or until a class change is requested by the family.
Due to availability, you may need to accept a class that is not your first choice and join a waitlist for your first preference. Changes will be actioned as soon as possible.
The Centre endeavours to maintain the current timetable wherever possible but reserves the right to consolidate classes, alter timetables, event schedules and change teachers to suit usage requirements as necessary for the betterment of the centre as a whole.
Teacher continuity is our ultimate endeavour, but our teachers are human and sometimes fall sick or go on leave. These circumstances are out of our control. All Staff are fully qualified and have a passion for teaching. We will provide a suitable substitute should your regular teacher be absent for any reason. If a substitute is not available, a make-up will be issued.
The Centre operates year-round except for a closure period at Christmas and on Public Holidays.
No Learn to Swim lesson fees are charged for closure dates.
You will be notified of any closure dates and corresponding charges at the time of billing.
In the event of an unforeseen incident which could affect the health and safety of our families, we reserve the right to close the pool. We will attempt to contact all affected swimmers via SMS, Email or Push Notification regarding any closure, so please ensure your contact details are up-to-date at all times and that you have allowed notifications in the App so that you do not miss any important messages.
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult guardian who must remain at the centre and poolside at all times. Students under the age of 5 years will not be accepted by their instructor into lessons without their guardian present and/or in the pool where necessary.
Please respect our staff and other families and do not attend lessons if your child is suffering from any of the following: ANY contagious disease including but not limited to Covid-19, common cold, flu, gastro, chest infection, fever, rash, sore throat, runny infected nose, conjunctivitis, rubella, cold sores, ringworm, head lice and urinary tract infection or any illness where there is any risk, however small, to other users and staff members.
If you give a minimum of 30 minutes notice, you will receive a make-up lesson for any absence, so you will not lose your lesson.
Please keep all staff and swimmers safe and able to continue lessons by minimising the spread of illnesses to other students and our staff.
All students are required to wear appropriate swimwear in the water at all times. Goggles for all swimmers are advised.
All students under the age of 3 or that are not fully toilet trained must wear an approved aqua nappy while participating in lessons along with appropriate swim wear.
Aqua nappies are available for purchase from Reception if you do not have one.
A fee will be charged to the family for any pool toileting accidents, as it is a health hazard that forces immediate closure of the pool - meaning cancellation of all other classes in the pool - and immediate cleaning to ensure water quality safety, before the pool can be reopened. This causes major disruption and loss of income to the centre.
All guardians participating in our infant learn to swim classes are required to wear appropriate swimwear.
No persons are permitted to record or photograph any student, guardian or staff member at the centre except for their own child/ren. It is a condition of entry to the Centre that, if requested due to a complaint or otherwise, a person show staff the images they have photographed or recorded to ensure no persons other than their own child/ren have been photographed/recorded. We ask that you respect the wishes of other patrons who may not wish to have themselves or their children photographed or filmed whilst using the centre.
Our swimming program is a continuous therefore the need for booking the next term is not required.
Your enrolment will automatically roll over unless you notify us that you wish to cease swimming with us.
For the purpose of our term payments we allow for the school holidays at the end of each school term to be included.
